A coffee chat with Professor Juana Goergen. She is a poet, a professor at DePaul, and a community educator. One of my interviewees for my Vocalo Storytelling piece.

I’m currently working on two projects that revolve around sneakers and the concept of what a “sneakerhead” is. It’s been really interesting talking to people and hearing their opinions and personal reasons for collecting sneakers. Also, I’ve seen some pretty dope shoes, such as these. I took these pictures at House of Hoops on State Street.

Third interview completed! This is one of the interviews I have enjoyed the most. Such an amazing family from Mexico City who attend the program Proyecto Odisea together. Family definitely plays an important role in education.

Love+Radio’s/Snap Judgment’s Nick van der Kolk food-processed my brain over skype. My mind was opened to the endless amount of approaches to producing radio; endless ways to experiment and still tell a good story. Also, I feel like I learned more about interviewing in last week’s 20-minute exercise then in all my days of trying to produce on my own. Excited to put it to use this week with five interviews scheduled.

I’m very excited to have the opportunity to interview Amy Thomas Elder for my short audio documentary on #TheOdysseyProject #ProyectoOdisea #Chicago for Vocalo’s Storytelling Workshop.

Meet Amy→In January, she was featured in Lifestyles as one of the most remarkable woman of Chicago at the Chicago Tribune: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2013-01-27/features/ct-tribu-remarkable-elder-20130127_1_adult-literacy-center-liberal-arts-program-illinois-humanities-council

Finally, my audio piece on #ProyectoOdisea #Chicago for the Vocalo Storytelling Workshop has a direction. Played with a first draft of my script, recorded it, and voilà. At least my interviewees list is ready. Now, time to work on it.
